This is not touchscreen… This is touch projections.  Interactive projections onto the floor in Las Vegas at the MGM casino.  Microsoft as well as many other companies have created there own spin on these interactive floors and walls.  They are great for family fun and children are in love.  It holds many applications such as games, or even bussiness.  You could use it for interactive meetings to show slides and graphs, and is deffinately able to intergrate into entertainment.  I think that this is a nice step forward to higher technologies that have interactive media.

This is etremely new and exciting science…  These are all different ways to achieve visible or detectable visiblity.  One uses a mirror like structure to bounce microwaves around the object in the center, another uses a projection onto the form, and the other uses a synthetically created substance to bend light around small objects.  This is facinating, and one day we will be at the point where invisability can be acheived.  Technology is growing so fast, that sci-fi is becoming reality.

These are some concept car art works.  They catch my eye, first for the interesting design of the vehicle, but then, becuase of the unique style of art the portray.  The first is a kind of sketchy, in production work of art.  The second is a bit more focussed on presentation, and making the car look like it is in action.  Last, the third one is a 3d model, a full digital representation of a concept someone has created.  These are all interesting ideas, and they each have a large amount of potential.  The way to get the point across, for each, is very different.  Whichever one has better presentation, and a link to the industry will have the best chance in becoming reality.

These are 3M’s smallest projectors.  Some of the smallest projectors in the world.  In this order we have the Mini 3M, the Pocket 3M, and the Rugged 3M.  The mini is the smallest known projector that will be on market and is capable of projecting an image 46″ by 38″ inches from about 5 feet away.  It runs on a batterie but is prefered to be plugged in becuase batterie life is questionable.  The pocket is much better in this department and can create a much higher resolution image – but it isn’t quite as awsome(small).  These show a lot of promise into the future technology in projecting images and videos with nothing more than something we always have on us – like, a phone, speaking of which…

I have heard talk that Samsung is releasing a projector phone soon, as well as a Korean company.  SO EXCITING!!!!

These are proof of real Holographic techology being produced by the company, Telecomunications.  They presented it first in Aulstralia’s Telstra convention where their boss was beamed on stage in real time from over 500 miles away – shown in the pictures.  In the video, a comedian was allowed to use this new technology for a skit, showing  just how 3d, and realistic the holograms really are.  This is an amazing feat for human kind.  This really is sci-fi becoming real at it’s best!!!  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for such advanced tech…

If you search around a bit, you will find that alot of people are starting to look into such technology and industry leaders like Apple and Microsoft have started work on 3d holographic projection as well.  Telecom’s advancement in this feild show promise, and they will most likely remain on top.  I hope to see alot more realistic demonstrations, and hand’s on demo’s available for public technologies in the near future!!!

This shows the detail that was put into a few of the shots in Pirates.  It takes a look at certain scenes, cutting and splicing the digital medium into its major pieces.  It shows the power of computer generated photo-realistic imagery, and the grip it holds on creating media.  Movies, games, and anything else you see on a screen now days, are produced in a CG environment and are tampered to the point of creating what the author of an image or animation want you to see perfectly.  The naked eye can’t determine what textures are produced from photo-generated computer graphics and what was directly filmed, even then, most of the filmed parts of these scenes are digitaly enhanced.  Movies and other digital media have come a long way in developing ways to create realistic environments and characters that are not real, adding to the spectrum of what you can add in such media.  More things are now possible with todays technology and it will only get better.

I found this to be an extemely good example of how computer graphics and effects have come in such a short time.  Years ago, these effects would have costed a good chunk of money for the software and hardware needed, but this was simply done using Adobie software on a home computer.  This was done in tribute to the movie Jumper, and you can see why the effects in that movie were simply amazing when a normal person without funding can create great effects similar to it.

Can you guess what is seperated into different scenes, and then spliced together using CG.  I’m pretty sure you know that Dino isn’t real…

The man running is actualy put infront of a blue screen with some slight drizzle.  Then the environment, including somemore rain and stunt shots with the vehicle reacting to the Dino are filmed, along with the .  After these two scenes are spliced together, they add the Dino, made from a demo-bot and CG make up.  All these scenes compbine to create a realistic whole scene of the man running from the Dino that seams to interact with the environment, but the environmental reactions to it were already filmed before hand.  Movie Magic!!!

This engine is a gaming engine being developed separately from big gaming companies.  It is independent and shows much promise.  These are demo videos showing the capabilities it will have when it is done and ready to be used for game creation.  I plan on getting my hands on it if I am able to do so, as soon as possible!  This engine will redifine gaming media and reshape how we play video-games.

I think that, compared to previous engines and graphic building systems, this is the most advanced due to the vast size of rendered mass it can produce at once.  It is comparable to no engine I have seen and shows how technology has pushed games forward.

This is one of many Pop art based dog creations.  I found that these are entertaining more-so than fine art and holds your attention longer and with more enthusiasm.  Art needs to be able to hold the attention of a viewer so they have time to obsorb all the visual information.  With something so simple and grasping as a dog, they already had the foundation of good art while being creative and putting there own spin on how to get this dog across to the viewer.  This is great modern art, and more should fallow this example of creativity.

This is something that, at first glance, instantly got labelled as photo art.  When they take those photographs and put them together to make a bigger picture, it takes time and effort for such a task.  Although if you look closer, it is actualy a ton of smaller art pieces, most likely paintings, put together to make the larger picture.  This is an interesting concept taken to a new level by creating the paintings needed for the face, without just drawing the face.  When making something like this, you would have to think about color and design, as well as just an overall idea of how to get the big picture across when the pieces don’t go together like puzzle peices.  This is hard work and I am impressed.
